Can I be haunted by a ghost
who never lived?
Can I be haunted
by myself?
The specter that wished to arrive
and never did.
The self-same form which I sought
and now feels other entirely.
Fantasme, a projection from the past
I still envy.
Fantaisie, a projected future
I no longer desire.
Should I mourn you
who haunts so I may live?
Should I bury you,
who could have buried me?
