DIE VERWANDLUNG

a pierced vein is an invocation, articulation of a ceaseless flow without relief which relaxes only at the point of its own destruction (cutting through the edge which keeps it from falling forever, renewed against its own will and the rest it seeks)—

it could stretch across the world if it were freed and allowed to drip out carefully or recoil itself around a body much larger than the one which confines it—

this beating heart is not the beating heart of the world but its opposition, a "yes" built on nothing but a universal "no" which encircles it and declares that that which it encircles is not this small heart, but the world—

what courses through this body is not life.

what courses through this body is death, sucked from the life which courses into it, begging for the exit which will restore it to the life from which it is torn—
