there is a "you" inside my mind
fully knowable
(because fully untouchable)
a "you" that is entirely me
(I'm sorry)
a "you" that you have never known
and never will
(I wouldn't let you even if I could)
the touch that embraces
would destroy
(despite my agony, promise you will not)
(I hope I have not destroyed
you with my "you" although it tinges
everything I say to you
and do not say here)
(I beg forgiveness for something I will never admit)
